The need for this project is highlighted by the increasing demand for the redevelopment of brownfield sites combined with the need to ensure the supply of safe drinking water. This Final Project Report provides an overview of the two phases of the project, carried out by Advantica Ltd in partnership with Ewan Associates, and details the project output which comprises the five Best Practice Manual Booklets and The Contaminated Land Investigation for Pipe Selection (CLIPS) database. The booklets and database model are tools designed assist developers, and others, in the selection of pipeline and gasket materials to prevent drinking water systems becoming contaminated from passage through contaminated land.
